How much to sell my additional services for?

If you offer additional services or amenities to your short rental guests, it's important to price them appropriately.

Charging too much can discourage sales, while charging too little can result in lost income.

Here are some tips for pricing additional services in your apartments :

1) Use our extra templates, with pricing ideas 💻

When you add an extra on CozyUp, you get an overview of those used by other members, as well as a pricing suggestion!

2) Look at what others offer 👀

Do research on the going rates for similar services in your area!

Look at other Airbnb listings in your area and see how much they charge for services such as late arrivals, bike rentals, or parking spaces.

This will give you an idea of the going rate for these services.

3) Take your margin into account 💸

It is important to know the cost of providing the service.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of any supplies or materials needed to provide the service, as well as your own time and effort.

4) Think about the value you bring 🤝

Think about the value the service provides to the guest.

For example:

When you are at the airport and you pay 6€ for a soda instead of 0.50€ at the supermarket, there is a good reason:

You are thirsty, you have just finished a 2-hour flight and you don't want to wait.

The airport provides you with a valuable service, so you consider this price to be "fair".

It's the same with guests!

Other services, like an in-room massage, may also be more expensive because they are more luxurious and provide a higher level of enjoyment for the guest.

5) The first price will not necessarily be the right one 🏷️

It is important to test different prices.

If you're not sure how much to charge, try offering the service at a few different price points and see what works best.

You can also ask for feedback from guests who have used the service to see if they feel the price was fair.

6) Transparency is important 💎

Be transparent about the cost: it should INCLUDE EVERYTHING. Make sure to clearly communicate the cost of any extra services to guests before payment, so there are no surprises when they arrive.

By following these tips, you can price your extra services in a way that is fair to both you and your guests.
